Ok it is now showing drivers and it says that it has the best driver.BUT still doesn´t detect devices.ANT+ doc. Anyone know how to download the later.net programs without letting microsoft on the computer. Can i save it on a memory stick and the transfer to this computer?Since.net is a Microsoft product that's going to be a bit difficult. You can download the latest version here: Microsoft.net framwork 4.5 (It's backward compatible so the latest version should be fine. What part part of Microsoft do you not want to let on to your computer? If you're using 64-bit Windows you should be using 64-bit drivers. If the driver is working but it can't detect devices the issue may be elsewhere.
Can you give more details.John. I think that this thing is a lost cause.I set my old laptop up to run the ergovideo program.
It has a.NET Framework of 4.5 something. So the program works.Drivers are listed for the ANTm stick and computer says that it is working properly. But no devices are being recognized.
So I either need some different software or the stick isn't working. Being as how it is a Garmin stick, that is a distinct possibility. If I can find a Suunto or something else I may try that.I can't even sit down on a chair right now so riding is out of the question for a month or two anyway, So I have time.I'll keep researching. Thanks for the help. Garmin owns the company that produces and keys all the ANT+ USB sticks. One is the other.Ive been using ANT stuff since it first came out and was conversant with its technology. It works so well it went into my background mode. No, I wanted to be able to watch the videos that ERG have of the Tour de France stages and be able to simulate them with the wahoo kickr snap. But that is out the window now because they require you to be connected.
I have no intention of keeping this computer or any other connected to run their bloody program. So they are gone now.All of the blue tooth functions work properly with my cheap ass smart phone. So if I want some variation in the power needed to ride I can use one of those programs.People, intentionally, just keep making things more difficult. There are countless numbers of complaints about the garmin sticks not working. Including DCRainmaker. Garmin really needs to start paying attention to quality control. When you say connected, do you mean on-line?
I'm afraid that's the way of the world now. Provided you're sensible and have protection installed that really shouldn't be a problem and, as you're finding out, you're giving up a lot of benefits by refusing to do it.
At the end of the day it's your choice, of course.JohnIn some locations, even in the USA, getting a reliable, fast enough connection is difficult to impossible. Jimbo is likely one of those people as he splits his time between a very rural location in the US and Thailand which may or may not have service issues.
In addition, if the program requires a connection to work, then you are trusting that program (and all the servers in between) to be 100% safe with respect to the information you are transmitting (knowingly or unknowingly) through the internet. My time in Beijing illustrated to me the problems that can be encountered with both aspects I mention. In my view, the usual reason for a company wanting to force a connection is so that they can use some part of your information (often by selling an aspect of it to someone else). Server side processing may make things faster or convenient for a few people, but the side effect is a lack of portability for you to do your work and the potential release of your information. If you are willing to pay someone for a service and then also give them the right to use any information they collect about you for whatever purpose they wish, then feel free to use those programs. Apparently garmin connect and training center don't work with my desktop computer.
Some say training center only works if you buy the expensive maps to go with it.The usb driver in now the latest 2.3.1.1. Still no luck. When I switched from the Forerunner 205 (connected by USB cable) to the Forerunner 310XT (ANT+ USB stick), I couldn't get the 310XT to work with Training Center at all. All the steps you went through sound familiar-new versions of Training Center, new drivers, updated firmware, resetting the 310XT to factory specs-nothing helped. I finally gave up and went to Garmin Connect.

In Arizona I don't even get cell phone coverage let alone internet. And for the last four days here in Chiang Rai I have been without internet because of a connection failure that the landlord still hasn't fixed after weeks of reminding him.I chose Ergovideos because, at the time, you could download the program and buy a video or two and load them on your computer. Then use them without going online. Very handy and really all that I need.
But, their program didn't work. It needed.Net Framework 4.0. Well, I have 4.0.1 something and it still doesn't work.
They told me to do a total reload of windows etc. I have several thousand dollars worth of language programs that I use to teach with. This computer is the only windows based computer I have that works properly. I have no intention of changing anything on it.Now the new Ergo program tells me on startup that it can't find an internet connection so I will have limited use and eventually it will shut down. Ok, Ergo is going to be removed. They insist that I accomodate their program. I can live my life with them. So, now I am looking for a program that will load my gpx files of time trials that i have recorded and just use them as training rides.
However, even if I find a program to work on windows 7, I still don't have an ant+ stick that works. And they don't seem to be available in this country. The vexing part of all this is that Bluetooth is working beautifully on my cheap little android smartphone. The programs that I have downloaded work and they recognize all the bluetooth signals. Another Beta vs Vhs thing?? program needed.Net Framework 4.0. Well, I have 4.0.1 something and it still doesn't work. They told me to do a total reload of windows etc. This computer is the only windows based computer I have that works properly.
I have no intention of changing anything on it.There are some programs which only require internet connections to complete registration. Or periodically to 'phone home' to verify a subscription or check for updates. Ergo however says they require it to verify/unlock videos and probably for other stuff (tracking). And according to their website, they are willing to write off the 5% (their number) of their current customer base who don't have/want an internet connection. For the OS configuration issues, a cheap, older (relative), laptop may be a good answer for programs with particular configuration requirements. I know people who keep an old computer around just for running certain apps.Alternatively, running a different OS, or the same one with different drivers in a virtual machine (VM) may be a good solution. There are a number of VM offerings for a Windows host, including VirtualBox, VmWare, Hyper-V, etc.
Some are free. I use VMs on both OSX and Windows (10, 8, and 7), though not with ANT+stick. USB peripherals can require some special setup in VMs. VmWare on OSX works well with my external USB drive, prompting whether to connect the drive to the host or guest OS.Good luck,Jon. I bought a new keyboard to put in my old laptop. That should put it back into use without a usb keyboard.
But I'm still doing away with ergo simply because I don't like their attitude. Riding the Tour de France courses would have been nice but I can live without it.However, I'm still going to have to try and get a different ant stick.
One that works, anyway.Garmin Connect requires windows 10 so that one is out as well.I'll just have to ride without any electronic feedback to the trainer until something comes along that works.
You may want to ask the dealer to allow you to bring the speakers into your home for this very reason. Bose upgrade program lifestyle. A bad one isn't worth your time anyways. Also look into not only speakers from, but also subwoofers from:My major recommendation is before going for a full-on 5.1 try out a quality 2.1 or 3.1 first. A good dealer will acquiesce. By spending more on mains you may really get a nice experience.
